Job Summary and Responsibilities

As a CNA-Phlebotomist, you will provide basic nursing care and assist with daily living activities under licensed practitioner direction.

Every day you will perform skilled blood collection, maintain an organized work environment for efficient clinical workflow, and encompass holistic patient care.

To be successful, you will demonstrate compassionate care, precise phlebotomy, and a commitment to efficiency, supporting both patient needs and the clinical team.
  • Under the direction and supervision of the Licensed Practitioner, RN or LPN, participates in the nursing process which includes: assess, plan, implement, and evaluate. The nursing process is an ongoing process that can end at any stage.
  • Assessment - Contributes to the assessment of the health status of the healthcare consumer.
  • Plan – Contributes to the plan of care through observation, data collection and communication of findings to the appropriate member of the multidisciplinary team.
  • Implement – Provides basic patient care activities based on the plan of care and as delegated.
  • Evaluate – Contributes to the evaluation of the healthcare consumer by observing responses to interventions and communicating findings to the appropriate member of the multidisciplinary team.
  • Transports, collects, receives and prepares biological specimens for all age groups of patients for analysis using procedures consistent with safe work practices and proper laboratory techniques, while maintaining the integrity of the specimens.

Job Requirements

Required
  • High School Graduate General Studies, upon hire or
  • High School GED General Studies, upon hire and
  • Other Must have successfully completed the 75-hour state approved course for Nursing Assistant if hired into the Nursing Assistant position after April 30, 1998., upon hire and
  • Certified Nursing Assistant: NE, upon hire and
  • Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire

Preferred
  • Other Completion of phlebotomy course, upon hire
