Job Summary and Responsibilities

Are you a compassionate and skilled Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) looking to make a difference in patient care? We're seeking a dedicated professional to join our dynamic ophthalmology/optometry practice.

 

In this vital role, you'll be the backbone of our clinic, performing a blend of clerical and clinical duties to ensure seamless daily operations. You'll provide direct patient care, conducting essential ocular testing with advanced equipment, all under the expert guidance of our physicians. Your responsibilities will also include accurately documenting patient information, administering ocular medications as prescribed, and assisting with in-office procedures—all within your scope of practice and training.

Job Requirements

Minimum Education and Experience Required:

    • High School diploma or equiavalent (GED)
    • 1 year working in an optometry or ophthalmology practice required.
    • Satisfactory completion of a formal certified ophthalmic technician program pursuant to the Division of Allied Health Professions or military training that is equivalent to an accredited certified ophthalmic technician program (determination by Dignity Health Medical Foundation  HR department in conjunction with the State Division of Allied Health Professions.)
