Job Summary and Responsibilities

The Portfolio Management Trainer will create, deliver, and continuously improve training and coaching for project and program managers as well as demand managers. This role focuses on teaching portfolio management processes, tools, and best practices (including Strategic Portfolio Management in ServiceNow), and embedding lean continuous improvement principles. The Trainer will work closely with stakeholders, process managers, and various cross-functional teams to ensure learning aligns with real-world portfolio needs and drives measurable adoption.

  • Design, develop, and maintain curriculum for portfolio and program management, including foundational and advanced courses.
  • Deliver classroom, virtual, and on-demand training sessions tailored to project and program managers, demand managers, portfolio leads, and stakeholders.
  • Provide hands-on workshops and coaching for adoption of Strategic Portfolio Management (SPM) in ServiceNow, including portfolio planning, demand intake, prioritization, road-mapping, capacity planning, project discovery, and project management, and reporting.
  • Maintain and update CommonSpirit Health’s Online Learning System for Project Management courses, tools, and on-boarding job aids.
  • Conduct competencies with Project Managers after the completion of their on-boarding training.
  • Teach and apply lean Six Sigma principles to portfolio and project delivery; support process improvement initiatives with training and coaching.

Job Requirements

Required

  • Bachelors Of Science Business, Healthcare, or related fields or 4-6 years Project Management Experience
  • Experience designing and delivering training for project/portfolio management audiences
  • Project Management Professional
  • Lean Six Sigma Black Belt Certification, within 120 Days of hire


Preferred

  • Solid knowledge of and extensive experience with portfolio and program management practices, including demand intake, prioritization, roadmapping, resource/capacity planning, all aspects of project management, and reporting
  • Familiarity with ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management (SPM) — hands-on experience strongly preferred
  • Experience with virtual training delivery and common tools (e.g., Zoom, LMS, slide authoring)
