Mercy Medical Center Mt. Shasta is a member of the Dignity Health system of health care providers and is a not-for-profit medical facility. We are designated as a 25 bed Critical Access Hospital and are accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Health care Organizations. In addition to our acute care hospital we also own and operate three Rural Health Clinics providing walk-in immediate care as well as scheduled appointments for routine medical needs.

We are located in the northernmost area of California and are part of a network of care, including Mercy Medical Center Redding and St. Elizabeth Community Hospital in Red Bluff. Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Director of Nursing, you will contribute by strategically planning, designing, implementing, and maintaining patient care programs, policies, and management systems across assigned departments and campus.

Every day you will lead the integration of services to ensure patient-centered care, drive quality and cost-effective improvements, and serve as a role model for ethical management. You will maintain direct operational and matrix management responsibility for all nursing care areas on your assigned campus, actively building strong relationships with physicians, employees, and community stakeholders.

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate exceptional leadership in patient care administration, collaborating effectively with medical staff and ancillary services. You will embody ethical principles, foster patient experience, and enhance staff engagement, ultimately achieving the objectives of campus operations and contributing to the division's CNO strategy.

  • Responsible for the overall quality of care provided by the nursing personnel. Advises medical staff, department heads, and administrators in matters related to nursing service and strategies.
  • Interprets policies and objectives of nursing service to staff and community groups.
  • Monitors the operations of the nursing staff and ensures compliance with regulations on organizational and governmental standards and practices. Schedules staff and conducts employee performance reviews.
  • Provides nursing care to patients on an as needed basis.

Job Requirements

Required

  • Bachelors Of Science Nursing or equivalent education and experience, upon hire and
  • Masters Other nursing or other-related field - MSN/MBA/MHA, upon hire and
  • Minimum of three (3) years of nursing experience and
  • two (2) years of leadership experience.
  • Registered Nurse: CA, upon hire and
  • Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support, upon hire and
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support, upon hire
