Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Radiologic Technologist (Rad Tech), you will be pivotal in producing diagnostic images that enable Radiologists to accurately diagnose and manage patient conditions.

Each day, you will perform a variety of imaging examinations, including X-rays, ultrasound, diagnostic fluoroscopy, CT/CAT scans, and MRIs, while actively contributing to a positive patient experience through direct interaction.

To excel, you must deeply understand diagnostic imaging's critical importance, encompassing expertise in workflow, patient positioning, and capturing precise results essential for timely and accurate diagnoses.

  • Job Functions: Radiology Technologist II - CT
  • Transfers and positions patients. Measurement: Observation, Feedback.
  • Independently perform all diagnostic radiographic imaging and fluoroscopic procedures and specialty procedures of secondary specialty skill according to department protocols keeping with orders from referring physicians, including patient positioning, safe patient handling, and radiographic techniques.
  • Provides radiation protection in accordance with prescribed safety procedures. Measurement: Observation, Feedback, Departmental monitors.
  • Accepts responsibility for placing exams in PACS, is able to print images and burn CDs as needed. Measurement: Observation, Feedback, Film accuracy, Film quality.
  • Identify patients using 2 identifiers, verify physician orders, and explain procedure to patient and obtain consent if needed. Interviews patients for pertinent medical history on patients prior to performing studies.

Job Requirements

Minimum Experience:

  • CA Radiology Tech (R) (F) (CT)
  • ARRT
  • BLS (AHA required)

Skills:

Excellent verbal and written skills to facilitate communication with medical and technical personnel. Must have the ability to read write and speak English.

 

Preferred:

IV certification preferred

1 year acute medical experience 

 

Please be advised that this location requires quarterly American Heart Association (AHA) Resuscitation Quality Improvement (RQI) competency certification post-hire.  This ongoing competency is required through resources internal to the facility; outside RQI competency resources are not acceptable for CommonSpirit Health compliance requirements.
