Job Summary and Responsibilities

As a Department Support Assistant, you will provide essential general office and clerical support within a specific location.

Every day you will perform clerical tasks, utilizing basic office equipment and computer terminals, while adhering to established procedures that primarily impact your immediate unit.

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate a strong ability to learn on the job, efficiently execute secretarial duties, and adhere to guidelines under direct supervision, contributing to departmental efficiency.

  • Performs a wide variety of secretarial and clerical duties, including but not limited to preparation of correspondence, reports, forms, copying, filing, data entry, and other office administrative duties.
  • Accurately enters Base Station data into the LA County TEMIS system
  • Assists with coordination and design and/or modification of office operations to increase effectiveness of departmental functions.
  • Monitors office supply usage.
  • Complies with pertinent policies and procedures related to office operations, record keeping and filing systems to ensure adherence to CDPH, The Joint Commission, and Hospital guidelines.
  • Performs data entry and retrieval utilizing established computer network and software.

Job Requirements

  • High School Graduate, General Studies, and Minimum one (1) year of general office secretarial/clerical experience, upon hire or
  • High School GED General Studies and Minimum one (1) year of general office secretarial/clerical experience, upon hire and
  • Fire Safety, within 90 Days


Preferred

  • Associates Other Business Administration and Prior medical office, hospital/acute care environment, upon hire or
  • Bachelors Other Business Administration and Prior medical office, hospital/acute care environment, upon hire
