4-10s Monday-Thurdsay 745a-615p (Friday's Off) OR

5-8's Monday-Friday 8a-430p

 

The Medical Assistant/Certified Medical Assistant (NOT Med Aide / CNA) serves as a vital member of the healthcare team in our family medicine clinic. This position is responsible for providing direct clinical and administrative support to physicians, advanced practice providers, and nursing staff, ensuring efficient patient flow and delivering high-quality, patient-centered care. The MA contributes to a positive patient experience by performing a variety of tasks that range from patient intake and vital sign collection to assisting with procedures and managing clinic operations.

Every day, you will take the lead on proactively preparing patient charts, ensuring all information is obtained and up-to-date for those seen in our facility. You can expect to have multiple patients daily depending on the number of physicians are on-site.

Your success in this role comes from your enthusiasm to help others, work efficiently, and your empathy for our patients.

  • Performs general patient care following established clinic workflows.
  • Greets and prepares patients for the health care provider by obtaining and recording vital signs, reviewing drug allergies and current medications, completing applicable screening questionnaires and documenting reason for visit.
  • Collects and prepares ordered specimens for laboratory analysis.
  • Prepares and provides ordered medications and/or vaccines to patients.
  • Cleans and sterilizes instruments.
  • Ensures patient exam rooms are stocked, clean, and orderly.

**CHI Health requires that ALL Medical Assistant/Certified Medical Assistants MUST be a graduate of a medical assisting program accredited by the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) or Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education (CAAHEP)

Job Requirements

Minimum Requirements:

  • Graduate of medical assisting program accredited by Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) or Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education (CAAHEP), upon hire 
  • Programs accredited by other credentialed bodies may be considered if program included formal externship
  • Medication Aide: NE, within 90 Days 
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association
