Job Summary and Responsibilities

As a Psychiatric Technician, you will provide compassionate direct patient care and essential support to individuals in mental health settings, contributing profoundly to their emotional well-being and recovery journey.

Every day you will expertly assist patients with daily living activities, facilitate therapeutic group activities, monitor behaviors and vital signs, and meticulously document observations, collaborating with the clinical team to ensure a safe and supportive environment.

To be successful, you will demonstrate outstanding empathy, strong observational skills, and a patient, resilient demeanor, contributing to a stable and therapeutic milieu for patients experiencing mental health challenges.

  • Assures that the rights of the patient/family are respected and maintained.
  • Allows for privacy and modesty in the provision of care.
  • Identifies self by name and title to patient/family.
  • Determines presence/type of Advanced Directive.
  • Reports suspected cases of abuse/neglect, if identified.
  • Understands role of, and how to access, the Bioethics Committee.

Required

  • Current CA Psychiatric Tech License
  • Basic Life Support
