Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Angiography Tech, you will operate diagnostic equipment and perform a variety of technical angiography procedures.

Every day you will provide patient orientation, explain procedures, and deliver pre and post-diagnostic care until test completion. This includes positioning patients, calibrating equipment, and meticulously documenting findings.

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate technical proficiency in angiography, strong attention to detail for equipment operation and documentation, and excellent patient communication skills to ensure comprehensive diagnostic imaging tests.

  • Performs angiography exams on patients according to the specific departmental procedure protocols
  • Prepares equipment ensuring that equipment is operational, safe and functioning according to diagnostic standards
  • Problem-solves equipment failure and imaging quality and contacts service representative or CES regarding equipment problems
  • Ensures that daily equipment and room maintenance are performed during/ after each procedure, and that special precautions and measures are performed to ensure infection control standards
  • Completes all quality checks and Ensures that equipment logs are maintained
    Completes all clinical supply inventory, ensuring that each diagnostic room is complete with the necessary supplies required to perform the procedure
  • Demonstrates competency in PACS process and Performs daily QA process
  • Actively Participates with patient testing, performing routine, non-routine, urgent, and emergent patient requests
  • Communicates with Patient Transportation, Nursing Units, Physician Offices, and other diagnostic areas to ensure that the patients receive their diagnostic procedures in a smooth, efficient and safe manner
  • Ensures that patient orientation, patient preparation and patient teaching is provided prior, during and following the test completion
  • Reviews the physician order to verify the type of diagnostic test requested and that the indication for the procedure is consistent
  • Provides specific diagnostic test information to the patient ensuring that the patient is aware of the diagnostic test involvement
  • Obtains patient history according to specific departmental procedural protocol
  • Positions the patient for the examination according to specific departmental protocol
  • Selects the specific equipment pre-sets and modifies the settings to ensure that optimal image is obtained
  • Assumes responsibility for the safety, emotional and physical comfort of patients while they are in the technologists care
  • Adheres to hospital guidelines on maintaining sterile fields   
  • Responsible for monitoring and recording radiation dose levels  
  • Performs required image post processing
  • When needed, scrubs in to assist Radiologists in performance of sterile procedures during the interventional test/treatment. Anticipates Radiologist's needs during the procedure by preparing catheters, coils, guides, etc. in anticipation of their use.

Job Requirements

Required

  • One (1) experience as a Radiographer
  • BLS Certification issued by the American Heart Association, upon hire
  • Registered as a Radiographer by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) (R), upon hire
  • Licensed as a Medical Radiographer through the Texas Board of Medicine, upon hire and
  • Registered Technologist Vascular Inteventional Rad, within 24 months or Registered Technologist Cardio Interventional Radiography, within 24 months
