Job Summary and Responsibilities

As a Clinical Nurse, you will be a central figure in our patient care team, delivering exceptional, compassionate care that truly makes a difference in our patients' lives.

Every day you will collaborate on comprehensive screenings, conduct critical risk assessments, provide vital preventative health education, and expertly coordinate care for diverse patient populations, leveraging technology to streamline processes. You'll ensure patients feel informed and at ease, patiently guiding them through instructions and addressing their concerns.

To be successful in this role, you will combine robust clinical knowledge and technological proficiency with genuine compassion, strong communication skills, and an adaptable approach to learning and patient-centered care.

  • Adheres to established Hospital/departmental policies and procedures, objectives, Quality Assessment and Improvement Program, legal, safety, environmental, infection control standards, Nurse Practices Act and Patient's Bill of Rights.
  • Responsible for the physical assessment of sexual assault and domestic violence victims
  • Responsible for the collection, documentation and packaging of forensic evidence for analysis by the Los Angeles City or Los Angeles County Crime Lab
  • Responsible for the provision of information and referrals regarding health concerns related to assault and domestic violence
  • Provide expert testimony in the area of sexual assault and domestic violence in a court of law
  • Interact professionally with local law enforcement officers, County social workers, the City Attorney's Office and the District Attorney's office

This position is represented by SEIU L121RN and is covered by the terms and conditions of the applicable collective bargaining agreement.

Job Requirements

Required

 

  • Minimum three years experience as RN with emphasis on assessment.
  • Current and Active CA, RN License required.
  • Training in sexual assault examinations required.
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support Certification (AHA BLS). 
  • LA City Fire Card (obtain within 90 days of hire) required.
