Dignity Health’s Pacific Central Coast Health Centers (PHC) is a non-profit Community clinic organization comprised of more than 40 health centers located primarily from Ventura to Templeton, spanning the coast. Our experienced physicians and advanced practice providers offer a wide range of primary and specialty care services. PHC is a part of Dignity Health Central Coast’s award-winning network of outstanding hospitals, imaging centers, laboratories, and post-acute services.
In keeping with the Pacific Central Coast Health Centers health care philosophy, the Physician's Assistant is credentialed with advanced training in areas of primary health care for adult patients, including, but not limited to: taking health history, performing physical examination and management of acute and chronic medical conditions. Provides care in collaboration with physician members of health care team.
Essential Functions:
Demonstrates basic to intermediate skills in technology and proficient knowledge of clinical procedures.
Take a patient's medical history and perform a physical examinations for any presenting problem(s).
Order specific laboratory studies and x-rays, and other studies, as appropriate, for that patient.
Requests blood draws as required, orders collection and other tests as indicated.
Counsel patients and their families on health promotion, diagnosis, prognosis and management possibilities.
May make necessary comprehensive referrals as required.
Diagnosis and prescribe treatment as needed.
