Job Summary and Responsibilities

As a Nursing Supervisor, you'll oversee a department of frontline nurses caring for patients. Your previous experience in acute care, LTC, or nursing homes adds tremendous value to our nursing team.

Every day you will advocate for your fellow nurses as you support them in reaching their full potential, which aligns with your department's operational goals and objectives.

To thrive in this role, you need to be accountable and confident. You're an excellent communicator in 1:1 interactions and in front of groups. It's also important for you to be comfortable holding tough conversations, as you are responsible for the performance of your people and your unit.

PROFESSIONAL PRACTICE:

  • Provides effective, comprehensive evidence based nursing care to achieve desired health outcomes. Organizes and prioritizes patient care activities balanced with the needs and comfort of the patient. Collaborates with other disciplines to insure comprehensive, holistic and effective plan of care. Applies knowledge of current practice standards, guidelines, statutes, rules and regulations. Demonstrates accountability for own ethical behavior and supports ethical practice by addressing or escalating issues. Serves as a patient advocate.

CRITICAL THINKING:

  • Demonstrates the ability to recognize and adapt to changes in patients condition (i.e. vital signs, test results) in a timely and clinically appropriate manner. Uses SBAR to notify physicians and other providers of clinical findings. Follows policies and procedures for contacting physician regarding critical values. Uses appropriate resources and follows chain of command. Recognizes the limits of scope of practice. Seeks multidisciplinary collaboration. Integrates and interprets multiple sources of data to make appropriate evidence-based clinical decisions based on patient needs and desired outcomes.

DECISION MAKING:

  • Assesses situations and seeks critical information to make decisions in collaboration with Physician. Implements solutions while reviewing and monitoring effects. Re-evaluates decisions and makes corrective actions when indicated. Makes decisions based on evidence based research. Assumes accountability for decisions made.

Job Requirements

  • Licensed Vocational Nurse licensed to practice in the State of California.
  • Minimal education as required for licensure.
  • Experience in women's health by working with women in the areas of breast health,GYN health, cardiac health and menopausal health.
  • Experience working in a medical office 
  • Licensed Vocational Nurse
  • Basic Life Support - CPR 
  • Fire Safety, within 90 Days
  • Supervisory experience desired
