Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our RNFA, you will champion excellence across multiple ORs and PACU bays, bridging frontline care with strategic leadership to redefine surgical outcomes.

Every day, you will inspire and empower our perioperative nursing team, translating organizational goals into action that elevates patient experience, strengthens community engagement, and ensures world-class care.   • Promote the mission, vision, and values of the organization.
  • Assess patients at intervals in accordance with facility or health care organization policies and procedures.
  • Participate in preoperative assessment and planning for surgical patients specific to RNFA activities (eg, anatomical exposure, wound closure) in collaboration with perioperative team members.
  • Develop an individualized perioperative patient plan of care.
  • Implement the plan of care

Job Requirements

Required

  • Other Successful completion of an RNFA program that meets the AORN standards for RN first assistant education programs. and Minimum of 5 years of Operating Room experience., upon hire and
  • Registered Nurse: CA, upon hire and
  • Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire and
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support, upon hire and
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support, upon hire and
  • Certified Nurse Operating Room, upon hire or
  • Clinical Nurse Specialist Perioperative Cert, upon hire or
  • Registered Nurse Practitioner: CA, upon hire


Preferred

  • Previous RNFA experience

 

Please be advised that this location requires quarterly American Heart Association (AHA) Resuscitation Quality Improvement (RQI) competency certification post-hire.  This ongoing competency is required through resources internal to the facility; outside RQI competency resources are not acceptable for CommonSpirit Health compliance requirements.
