Job Summary and Responsibilities

Position Purpose/Summary: This position contributes to the mission of NSH by supporting the scheduling needs of perioperative patients and their plan of care

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Performs duties according to department and hospital specific expectations as identified and assigned.
  • Schedules procedures considering the availability of procedure room, equipment, staff and anesthesia care provider utilizing EMR scheduling software.
  • Accurately schedules procedures, follows up on scheduling variations to optimize patient safety.
  • Manages incoming calls, depot scheduling requests, and voice messages related to scheduling department requests.
  • Manages direct fax scheduling requests and handling of scanned documents with On Base software.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by leadership.

Job Requirements

Required

 

  • High School Graduate General Studies / GED upon hire Required and
  • 1-3 years One to two years of hospital (medical field) experience with knowledge of medical and surgical terminology Required

 

Preferred

  • Other Metropolitan test or equivalent upon hire Preferred
