Job Summary and Responsibilities

As a Clinical Nurse Specialist, you will be a central figure in our patient care team, delivering exceptional, compassionate care that truly makes a difference in our patients' lives.

Every day you will collaborate on comprehensive screenings, conduct critical risk assessments, provide vital preventative health education, and expertly coordinate care for diverse patient populations, leveraging technology to streamline processes. You'll ensure patients feel informed and at ease, patiently guiding them through instructions and addressing their concerns.

To be successful in this role, you will combine robust clinical knowledge and technological proficiency with genuine compassion, strong communication skills, and an adaptable approach to learning and patient-centered care.

  • JOB FUNCTIONS: CLINICAL NURSE SPECIALIST - CLINICAL/TECHNICAL
  • Demonstrates expert clinical neonatal nursing skills in all NICU clinical competencies required of the CN III. Measurement: Observation, Documentation, Feedback.
  • Assesses and identifies the nursing needs of the neonatal patient/family population and plans, implements and evaluates interventions appropriate to the needs. Measurement: Observation, Documentation.
  • Maintains current certification as a Neonatal Resuscitation Instructor through AAP-AHA. Measurement: Documentation.
  • Serves as a consultant and role model for nursing staff on current nursing research, current standards, and publications on neonatal/perinatal issues and practices. Measurement: Observation, Documentation, Feedback.
  • Utilizes excellent time management skills to prioritize effectively, thereby meeting deadlines. Measurement: Observation, Documentation.

Job Requirements

Required

  • MSN degree from an accredited graduate school of nursing
  • Three (3) to five (5) years current level III NICU experience required
  • Registered Nurse: CA
  • Basic Life Support - BLS
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program Instructor - NRP
  • Adult Clinical Nurse Specialist Board Certified

 
Preferred

  • Neonatal Intensive Care Nursing, upon hire and
  • Public Health Nurse:CA, upon hire
