Facilitates the patient admission flow, including activities such as: patient identification, accurate demographic
and insurance information, and collections of required signatures and documents. Responsible for the verification
and authorization of insurance benefits on all patient accounts through electronic verification system and/or third
party payers in order to obtain accurate and prompt reimbursement. Provides information and answers questions
about the Payment Assistance program. Collects co-payments, patient liabilities, and enters all necessary
information into the hospital computer system.
Required
HS graduate or GED
Previous experience in a clerical setting
Typing speed 30 wpm
Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills
Computer skills
Preferred
Minimum of one (1) year experience in prior authorization precertification insurance benefits and how they apply to hospital registration or medical office setting. Medical terminology.
Current BLS certification
Previous experience with an EMR; Cerner
