Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Community Oral Health Promoter, you will be a vital force in advancing oral health education and access within our diverse communities, specifically for children, families, and underserved populations. This grant-funded role involves collaborating with providers to deliver culturally and linguistically appropriate oral health instruction, bridging gaps in care, and empowering individuals to adopt healthier oral habits.

Every day you will conduct engaging, age-appropriate oral health education sessions in community settings, thoroughly answering questions and addressing concerns with accurate and current health information. You will provide practical demonstrations, distribute health resource materials, and assist with curriculum development, implementation, and evaluation.

To be successful in this role, you will have a High School Graduate or GED qualification. Experience working with underserved populations, diverse cultures, and young children is essential. Preferred qualifications include 1-2 years of health and/or dental background and experience working in a grant-funded program. You must possess a current AZ Driver's License and BLS-CPR certification upon hire. The ability to read, write, speak, and understand both English and Spanish is required, along with basic computer skills and excellent written/verbal communication skills.

  • Assist providers with educating patients and parents in a culturally and linguistically appropriate manner.
  • Present age-appropriate education and resources to children, parents and caregivers in a thorough and concise manner that follows program protocol.
  • Answer participants' questions and concerns with accurate and current health information.
  • Provide evidence-based oral health education and services to Dignity Health Community Integration programs as requested.
