Where You’ll Work

The Ortho Surgical Unit at Mercy Hospital is a 24-bed unit with primary census driven by orthopedic and spine surgeries during the week. We also take medical patients. We support one another and value safe patient care. Our unit has self-scheduling and opportunities for internal growth. We look for candidates that are self-motivated and reliable.

Join our Perioperative Scheduler team. As a Perioperative Scheduler you will:

  • Schedule surgical and anesthesia care provider procedures within established guidelines.
  • Coordinate resources available for maximum utilization.
  • Obtain patient and procedural information, prints, distributes, and updates schedules. Keeps statistical information.
  • Perform computer data entry and retrieval.
  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal and customer service skills.

Job Requirements

In addition to bringing your whole self to the workplace each day, qualified candidates will need the following:

  • Three years of experience in a healthcare setting required
  • Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
  • Knowledge of surgical scheduling experinece preferred.
  • Strong computer skills preferred.
  • High School Diploma or GED required

Physical Requirements-Sedentary work -(prolonged periods of sitting and exert up to 10lbs force occasionally)
