Job Summary and Responsibilities

As an MRI Imaging Supervisor, you will provide 24-hour oversight and leadership for MRI technologists and operations. This critical role ensures the precise execution of high-quality MRI scans essential for patient diagnosis and treatment.

Daily responsibilities include leading and managing the MRI team to ensure meticulous patient care, accurate equipment operation, safe contrast administration, comprehensive patient education, and rigorous adherence to safety and regulatory standards. You will also oversee record-keeping, quality assurance checks, assist with budget management, and maintain departmental standards consistent with hospital policies.

Success requires ARRT certification, advanced MRI specialization, a strong understanding of cross-sectional anatomy and MRI physics, and proven supervisory experience. Exceptional leadership, communication, resource management, and a commitment to patient safety and quality are paramount.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise daily operations of the assigned department to facilitate the safe and appropriate delivery of MRI cases and research assignments, facilitate achievement of core measurement scores to ensure activities are completed in a timely and cost‐effective manner, while addressing patient, physician and staff concerns.
  • Schedule, supervise, and evaluate the work of assigned staff in accordance with established procedures; assist in identifying adequate staffing levels for appropriate coverage and to meet budgetary and operational objectives.
  • Responsible for the daily supervision, coordination, safety, technical, and quality aspects of the Radiology MRI section.
  • Attract and retain high quality staff; engage the team in maintaining a positive work environment; consistent application of human resources policies and procedures; orient, train and develop team; encourage the professional growth and development of the team, timely evaluate and performance manage direct reports.
  • Assist with services, patient outcomes, quality control, family/patient satisfaction, and operational effectiveness to facilitate optimal care delivery; identify trends/opportunities and provide recommendation to manager.
  • Participate in annual budget planning and administration relative to assigned responsibilities; monitor work schedules to control overtime and/or premium pay; monitor/approve expenditures within defined scope of responsibility.

Job Requirements

Required:

  • Assoc. Degree in Allied Health or Radiologic Technology
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in MRI
  • Medical Radiographer: TX
  • ARRT(R)
  • ARRT(MRI)
  • BLS-CPR, (AHA) -  within 14 days of hire
