Job Summary and Responsibilities

As a Respiratory Therapist, you will join an established team of RTs who share your passion for delivering highly specialized cardiopulmonary care to patients experiencing breathing issues. You'll be instrumental in providing a range of treatments from breathing techniques and nebulizer treatments to ventilator management, oxygen therapies, and external ventilation support.

Every day you will apply your keen assessment skills and critical thinking to manage diverse patient needs, develop and execute effective care plans, and ensure calm, focused intervention in both routine and emergent situations.

  • Competent delivery of all Respiratory Care procedures as outlined in the department policy and procedure manual.
  • Performs Respiratory therapy modalities with a basic understanding of related indications, contradictions and precautions.
  • Maintain accurate and complete documentation of all Respiratory Care procedures per department policy and procedures.
  • Verify Respiratory Care physicians’ orders once orders have been received, prior to initiating therapy on patients.
  • Give and receive accurate and complete reports. Update, and enter the current patient’s clinical status for worksheet purposes.

Job Requirements

Required

  • Graduation from a two-year AMA-approved School for Respiratory Care
  • Oregon Licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner
  • AHA BLS
  • ACLS within 90 Days
  • PALS within 90 Days
  • NRPwithin 90 Days

Preferred

  • Neonate experience
