Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Clinical Dietitian, you will screen, assess, develop, and implement nutrition care plans tailored to patients' nutritional and educational needs, ensuring timely and high-quality care that follows departmental guidelines and evidence-based standards.

Every day you will provide direct nutrition care, participate in outpatient nutrition programs and clinics as needed, and actively contribute to projects and process improvement activities, continuously enhancing the quality of our nutrition services.

To be successful in this role, you will possess expertise in clinical nutrition, strong assessment and care planning skills, a commitment to evidence-based practice, and the ability to effectively educate and support patients in achieving their nutritional goals.

  • Uses the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics Standards of Care and Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics Nutrition Care Process, as well as hospital and departmental guidelines to facilitate nutrition care of patients.
  • Performs comprehensive inpatient / client nutritional assessments and reassessments across the age spectrum per departmental screening and assessment guidelines.
  • Develops nutrition care plan, interventions, and goals based on desired outcomes for patient/client, which include but not limited to: assessing calorie, protein, and micronutrient needs; evaluating appropriateness of enteral or parenteral nutrition; determining enteral or parenteral feeding regime and implementing per department and hospital policy.
  • Documents in the medical record (EMR) using the PESS format as deemed appropriate.
  • Monitors response to nutrition care plans, interventions, and goals and revising as appropriate.
  • Performs education and communication to patient, family, and care team regarding plan of care.

Job Requirements

Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nutrition and Dietetics
  • Complete a minimum of 75 CEU hours every five (5) years per Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics Guidelines
  • Current Registered Dietitian or eligibility (required within six (6) months of hire/transfer)
  • Licensed Certified Dietitian in the State of UT or eligibility (required within six (6) months of hire/transer)

Preferred

  • One year of clinical dietitian experience
  • Experience with Food Service Operations database and Dietetic software
  • Current membership in a professional organization such as Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, Association of Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition, American Diabetes Association or American Association of Diabetes Educators
