Job Summary and Responsibilities

As an EEG Tech, you will perform diagnostic Electroencephalography, seizure monitoring, and evoked potential recordings of the brain or central nervous system per physician orders and established protocols.

Every day you will prepare patients, ensure a safe testing environment, execute studies, observe and document results, and monitor equipment, all under direct healthcare provider supervision.

To be successful, you will possess thorough knowledge of EEG equipment, continuously update your skills, and actively participate in quality assurance programs to uphold diagnostic accuracy and patient safety.

  • Performs specialized Electroneurodiagnostic procedures to ASET Guidelines
  • Performs procedures of Electroneurodiagnostics, EVP; outpatient, inpatient, routine, stat, and ICU
  • Completes testing paperwork, electronic storage and filing; completely, accurately, and to time standards
  • Performs EMU technology and applies and/or record: routine, grid electrodes & depth electrodes
  • Provides front office back-up support as needed i.e. phone, scheduling, and registration
  • Notifies reading Neurologist of testing results that need immediate attention

Job Requirements

Required

  • High School Graduate - HS diploma or GED. and Previous job experience required upon hire
  • Graduate of an ASET accredited program required upon hire


Preferred

  • Graduate of an ASET accredited program/ Eligible to take Part I or have taken Part I of the ABRET EEG Written Exam
  • Registered EEG Technologist
