As our Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) at Virginia Mason Medical Center, you will be an invaluable and essential member of our "Team Medicine" approach, delivering compassionate, direct patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. You will be instrumental in enhancing patient comfort, promoting dignity, and contributing directly to the safety and recovery of our patients, aligning with our commitment to continuous innovation through the Virginia Mason Production System.
Every day you will meticulously assist patients with all activities of daily living, including bathing, grooming, feeding, and basic hygiene, fostering a respectful and healing environment. You will precisely perform basic patient care activities such as taking vital signs, performing EKGs, and conducting bedside tests like blood glucose monitoring, accurately observing and reporting any changes in disease state or symptoms.
To be successful in this role, you will leverage your foundational clinical skills and innate compassion to build trust and provide comprehensive, respectful care within a collaborative team setting. You will actively observe and report patient conditions to the Registered Nurse, ensuring timely interventions and contributing to streamlined care processes.
Required
High school diploma or GED
Completion of an accredited Nursing Assistant (or military medical specialty training) program OR Licensed Practical Nursing program
Current certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (or active NA-R and proof of passing the WA NA-C exam) or LPN with the Washington State Nursing Commission
Current healthcare provider American Heart Association Basic Life Support (CPR) certification
Excellent organizational, oral and written communication skills as well as strong interpersonal skills
Basic skills in using a PC
Must be able to lift, move or assist patients using proper body mechanics
The ability to occasionally lift or push up to 50 lbs. and pull up to 100 lbs.
Please be advised that this location requires quarterly American Heart Association (AHA) Resuscitation Quality Improvement (RQI) competency certification post-hire. This ongoing competency is required through resources internal to the facility; outside RQI competency resources are not acceptable for CommonSpirit Health compliance requirements.
