Job Summary and Responsibilities

At Dignity Health Chandler Regional Medical Center we deliver humankindness through a wide range of health social and support services in the heart of Chandler Arizona. As part of our team you will provide clinical expertise; support and oversight that helps ensure our patients receive exceptional care. Expectations:

  • Assists in the design, planning, implementation and coordination of Performance Improvement and Patient Safety activities for the Trauma Program, associated departments, committees and service lines. Proactively coordinates and facilitates performance improvement activities to support key initiatives, including but not limited to, activities focused on clinical quality improvement, patient safety and risk reduction, efficiency, root cause analyses and medical staff improvement (e.g. peer review, OPPE, FPPE). Clinical performance improvement, including case review for peer review.
  • Participates in an integral role to ensure compliance with National Trauma Data Standard (NTDS), state health department, American College of Surgeons (TQIP), etc., data collection and reporting of process and outcome measures. Facilitates development and implementation of data collection tools and processes including the ability to: identify data elements needed to complete appropriate measurement, perform data collection and abstraction per specifications, and validate data prior to submission or preview reports prior to publication. 
  • Facilitates meetings, presents data and reports, identifies key findings and assists with action plans and implementation. Responsible for individual case reviews and monthly reporting metrics. Acts as a trauma program and clinical resource for education and development of staff including pre-hospital personnel.
  • Maintains current knowledge of accreditation and licensing requirements and must be a resource to staff on these regulations in order to improve management of outcomes and ensure compliance. Assists with regulatory readiness and survey preparation activities including mock surveys.

Job Requirements

Required: 

  • BSN
  • 2 years of acute care experience 
  • Experience in case reviews.
  • Experience in project/program implementation and evaluation.
  • Basic computer skills required.
  • Strong verbal, and written communication skills. 
  • Proficient computer skills. 
  • High comfort level with public speaking. 
  • Basic graphic design principles and desktop publishing techniques. 
  • Capable of effectively handling multiple priorities. 
  • Effective time management skills. 
  • Strong organizational and planning skills. 
  • Ability to work independently and with diverse groups and teams.
  • Current RN License. 
  • American Heart Association BLS upon hire.
  • American Heart Association ACLS upon hire.  
  • TNCC or ATCN within 6 months.

Preferred: 

  • TCRN
  • Trauma, ER or ICU clinical experience
  • Experience with trauma registry software
