The Level III Trauma Emergency Department at Holy Cross Hospital - West Valley has 25 beds and treats approximately 65 patients per day. Our department has a strong relationship with the board-certified Emergency Room Physicians, Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants. We are a STEMI and stroke certified Emergency Department. Our patient population ranges from neonatal to geriatric and we care for all complaints. We see many high acuity patients with about a 33% admission rate.
This is a desirable department as we see a high number of acute patients, but this environment is also very high-stress and high-emotion. It is imperative that our nurses have a great attitude, strong work ethic and most importantly have compassion to care for those who have entrusted us to take care of them. Our mission is to give world class care with compassion and kindness to everyone that comes through our doors. Candidates must have strong teamwork, great communication skills, an open mind and great attitude.
