Job Summary and Responsibilities

  • Activities of Daily Living (bathing, grooming, feeding, basic hygiene) 
  • . Basic nursing care activities (vital signs, observation and reporting of signs and symptoms of disease state, posturals, simple dressing changes)
  •   Assist in patient mobility (ambulate, turn, position, range of motion)
  •   Perform EKGs 
  • . Bedside testing (blood glucose, colon screening, dextrose secretions, specific gravity)
  •  Respiratory care (encouraging incentive spirometry, positioning, maintaining humidification of oxygen containers, maintaining nebulizer equipment integrity, performing oxygen saturation checks) 
  •  Please note: Job duties may vary depending on the clinical section.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required. 
  • Completion of an accredited Nursing Assistant (or military medical specialty training) program OR Licensed Practical Nursing program required.
  • · Current certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (or ac ve NA-R and proof of passing the WA NA-C exam) or LPN with the Washington State Nursing Commission.
  • · Current healthcare provider American Heart Association on Basic Life Support (CPR) certification
  • · Excellent organizational, and written communication  skills as well as strong interpersonal skills
  • · Basic skills in using a PC required. Demonstrated experience as a nursing assistant required.
