Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Maintenance Mechanic, you will be responsible for performing skilled mechanical maintenance and repairs on facility equipment and systems.

Every day you will troubleshoot, inspect, and maintain a wide range of machinery and building systems, executing preventative maintenance, responding to repair requests, and ensuring safe and efficient operation.

To be successful, you will demonstrate strong technical skills, meticulous attention to detail in diagnostics and repair, and the ability to work independently to minimize downtime and maintain operational continuity.

  • Observes mechanical and electrical devices (pumps, engines, motors pneumatic systems) in operation, listens to their sounds and observes their operation to locate cause of trouble.
  • Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts. Repairs or replace defective parts. Adjusts functional parts of devices and controls, or may install special functional and structural parts. Lubricates and cleans parts. Start devices to test their performance.
  • Installs repairs and replaces pipes, fittings and plumbing fixtures, opens clogged drains with plumber snake or vacuum plunger, replaces worn washers or other worn parts in leaky fixtures.
  • Test electrical circuits and components to locate faulty connection and defective parts. Uses test meter and test equipment. Replace defective parts such as transformers, resistors, condensers, switches and convenience outlets.
  • Install electrical circuitry involving single and three phase systems.
  • Installs, inspects, operates and repairs refrigeration and air conditioning equipment for preserving food, making ice, cooling water and air.

Job Requirements

Required

  • High School Graduate or GED
  • Two (2) years of mechanical and electrical experience
