Join us now as we are seeking a Post-Doctoral Fellow to join our RESEARCH DEPARTMENT! The Post-Doctoral Fellow at Dignity Health St. Joseph's Hospital & Medical Center, Hernia Institute is a 1 year position, with the possibility of extension to a 2nd year, intended to provide training and education in research. The Post-Doctoral Fellow will conduct research in disciplines of study in Dignity Health Hernia Institute, and General Surgery under the direction and in collaboration with faculty members. The Post-Doctoral Fellow works closely with Dignity Health faculty, Creighton University faculty, Residents, medical students, managers, and leaders and assumes the responsibility for research related activities. This position will be responsible for project status report collation and communication support. The Post-Doctoral fellow will lead the coordination of special projects at the end is responsible for developing project plans, timelines and ensure project goals are met. The Post-Doctoral fellow will be responsible for coordinating the personnel, including medical students, across the research studies. Qualified individuals will demonstrate the potential for research as evidenced by their training and peer-reviewed publications and should become competitive for national research grants. Qualified individuals will demonstrate experience in writing scientific reports, including abstracts and full-text manuscripts.

Qualifications
Experience
Laboratory or clinical research at the post-baccalaureate level with an interest in a faculty member's line of study.
Beyond minimum required, experience writing research reports concerning own work
Education
Ph.D., post-baccalaureate M.D. or D.Sc. degree or equivalent in a relevant field of endeavor.
Doctoral degree in a relevant field of endeavor preferred.
Special Skills
Familiar with basic computer, mathematical and statistical, scientific, reasoning, and oral and written communication skills as appropriate.
Training
Laboratory or clinical technical and/or interpersonal skills as appropriate.
Technical and/or conceptual expertise in a relevant field
