Clinical Laboratory Scientist II

Founded in 1961, Dignity Health - Arroyo Grande Community Hospital is a 65-bed, acute care, nonprofit hospital located in Arroyo Grande, California. Serving over 90,000 patients annually, the hospital offers a full complement of services including, emergency care, and orthopedics. Additionally, Arroyo Grande Community Hospital has been recognized as an LGBTQ+ Healthcare Equality High Performer by the Human Rights Campaign Foundation. It is a Joint Commission-certified Primary Stroke Center, and has the only inpatient Acute Rehabilitation Center between Salinas and Santa Barbara.

In keeping with the MRMC, Arroyo Grande Campus care philosophy, the Clinical Laboratory Scientist II is responsible for the prompt, accurate performance of various chemical, microscopic, and bacteriologic tests to obtain data for use in diagnosis and treatment of disease, in accordance with Mission and Laboratory Customer Service Standards. Performs as General Supervisor as defined in CLIA '88 regulations. Rotates shifts, holidays, and weekends as needed. Duties and responsibilities may be added, deleted, or changed at any time at the discretion of management, following written notice.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Three or more years of recent hospital experience as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist or Medical Technologist
• One year training in a school of Clinical Laboratory Science approved by the California State Department of Public Health or equivalent
• Must possess a valid California license as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist. ASCP registration desirable. Qualifies as a General Supervisor under CLIA 88 regulations

Preferred Qualifications:

• When hired into a specific CLS modality, current, full-time experience in that modality is preferred
