Job Summary and Responsibilities

We are not currently accepting new graduate or new to speciality applications.   Our next posting period will be July 1, 2026 for an October 16, 2026 start date.  Positions can be found under National Resident RN (<12 months experience as an RN) or RN Transition/Fellowship (>12 months experience as an RN.

 

Northridge Hospital Medical Center is hiring an ICU Registered Nurse to provide expert, autonomous patient care within the ICU, adhering to professional standards and contributing to the Dignity Health mission. Competitive salary and benefits offered.

 

The Registered Nurse (RN) delivers patient-centered care, adhering to all hospital policies, legal guidelines, and the Nurse Practice Act. The RN utilizes clinical expertise to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care, collaborating with the interdisciplinary team to achieve optimal outcomes. Key responsibilities include:

  • Patient Care: Conducting thorough assessments, developing individualized care plans, administering medications, performing treatments, and monitoring patient responses.
  • Collaboration: Communicating effectively with physicians, other nurses, and ancillary staff to coordinate care and ensure patient safety.
  • Documentation: Accurately documenting patient information, including assessments, interventions, and outcomes, in the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
  • Education: Educating patients and their families about their condition, treatment plan, and discharge instructions.
  • Leadership: Providing guidance and support to other members of the healthcare team, including CNAs and LPNs.
  • Professional Development: Serving as a preceptor and role model for new nurses and nursing students.
  • Quality & Safety: Participating in quality improvement initiatives and adhering to infection control protocols.

The RN also acts as an EHR resource and performs other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

Required:

  • Successful completion of an accredited/approved Nursing program
  • Minimum 3 years current acute care registered nursing experience in specialty area
  • Registered Nurse with current California License required
  • Current AHA BLS /ACLS
  • LA City Fire Care required within 90 days of hire

Preferred:  

  • Experience with open heart and balloon pump preferred.
  • CCRN TNCC certification preferred.
  • Current certification in specialty area preferred.
  • Experience with EHR (Cerner MediTech etc?) preferred.

This position is represented by SEIU L121 and is covered by the terms and conditions of the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
