Job Summary and Responsibilities

Glendale Memorial Hospital & Health Center is seeking a vigilant, responsible, and professional Security Officer to ensure the safety and security of our premises, personnel, and assets. The ideal candidate will possess excellent observation skills, a strong sense of integrity, and the ability to respond effectively to various security situations. This role is crucial in maintaining a secure and orderly environment for everyone within our facility.

 

  • Protecting staff, patients, and visitors by responding to calls for assistance in a timely and prudent manner, such as violent or unruly patients, visitors, crimes committed or in progress, opening doors, and responding to emergency codes.
  • Patrol the facility and grounds by foot or vehicle; monitor security alarms and dispatch officers promptly to location(s) where needed, and report unsafe acts or conditions.
  • Knowledge of emergency procedures, equipment, supplies, reports HIPAA breaches if witnessed; investigates security breaches, conducts follow-up investigations, and writes incident reports.
  • Log all activities in a daily log to accurately record events; and complete clear, concise, and legible reports promptly; use appropriate emergency and radio codes in dispatching security officers while knowing the hospital campus to ensure that those dispatched are to the right location.

Job Requirements

  • High School GED General Studies required
  • Six (6) months of experience as a security officer in a healthcare setting, Law enforcement, or military service required.
  • One (1) year of experience as a security officer required. 
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support (AHA BLS) within 90 Days of start date required. 
  • CA Security Guard required. 


Preferred

  • Basic Health Care Security Officer (BSO).
