CHI St. Alexius Health Turtle Lake is a 25 bed critical access hospital with a Level V Emergency Department that is available 24 hours a day. Our hospital has been committed to providing patients quality medical treatment in the Turtle Lake area and surrounding communities since 1952. Through the years, the hospital has sought to continually upgrade the quality and numbers of services it provides. The hospital's affiliation with major medical centers and health care agencies has allowed it to expand its health care services through a network that begins at the local level. CHI St. Alexius Health Turtle Lake is equipped with 2 emergency rooms, on-site lab, radiology, CT and physical therapy services. Our patients have access to 24/7 emergency care, swing-bed programs, and acute care services.

Are you a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse seeking a rewarding career where your expertise truly counts? Turtle Lake Hospital is looking for a dedicated RN to join our team, working directly under the supervision of our Director of Nursing. In this pivotal role, you'll be instrumental in delivering exceptional patient care. You'll assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care using the full Nursing Process, all while upholding the highest standards of the State Nurse Practice Act, our facility's policies, and the Mission and Philosophy of Turtle Lake Hospital. 

 

What You'll Do:

  • Comprehensive Admissions: Ensure seamless patient admissions, including timely communication, order completion, and initial assessments within established protocols.
  • Dynamic Care Planning: Develop and update individualized care plans, reflecting changes in patient condition and ensuring continuity of care through thorough reporting.
  • Proactive Assessments: Perform regular, thorough patient assessments (admission, shift-based, protocol-driven) and promptly communicate any changes to providers, family, or POA.
  • Safe Medication Management: Accurately dispense oral, IV, SQ, and IM medications, managing narcotics logs, and preventing/reporting errors.
  • Smooth Transitions: Coordinate timely notifications for changes in level of care or discharge, ensuring patients/caregivers receive clear instructions and follow-up.
  • Emergency Expertise: Skillfully manage outpatient and emergency room care, prioritizing primary assessments, provider notification, and efficient team mobilization for critical events.
  • Clinical Excellence: Demonstrate proficiency in essential skills such as IV insertion, catheterization, NG tube placement, airway suctioning, and gastric tube maintenance.
  • Accurate Documentation: Maintain meticulous patient records, ensuring all assessments, interventions, and changes are clearly documented.
  • Infection Control Champion: Uphold rigorous infection control standards, identify isolation needs, and ensure staff have appropriate PPE.
  • Continuous Growth & Collaboration: Engage in ongoing education, share knowledge, and actively participate in nursing committees to foster a collaborative and improving care environment.

Job Requirements

Education:  Nursing degree from an approved school of nursing.

Licensure:  License to practice professional nursing in the state of North Dakota.  (Licensed to practice registered nursing in the state of ND or in a compact state.  Graduate Nurse (G.N.) must practice under the supervision of a registered nurse while the work authorization to practice is valid.)


Experience:  No previous experience required.
