Position Summary:

 

The incumbent is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for a patient assignment through therapeutic use of self, the nursing process, and other health care team members. The incumbent, as a member of the health care team appropriately assists team members in providing holistic care to patients and their support systems with an awareness of cost containment and time management.

As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will be a pivotal healthcare professional, delivering compassionate, high-quality care that truly impacts our patients' well-being and recovery.

  • Performs routine physical/psychosocial assessment to collect basic data: follows the written plan of care, standards, practice guidelines, utilizes pathways, which includes notifying physicians as appropriate
  • Formulates a plan of care for individual needs, including patient population needs. Participates in the planning of routine transitional health care needs (i.e. treatment options, patient placement options)
  • Adapts planned educational programs and information to individual patients and family by modifying teaching strategies or content. Integrates education during the delivery of patient care
  • Ensures efficiency in the delivery of care to determine immediate priorities and to offer solutions for problems. Performs efficiently in emergency situations, following established protocols, appropriate communication and documentation
  • Makes independent clinical decisions based on knowledge drawn from education and experience
  • Recognizes the need for continued education and consults with unit leadership to develop and implement educational goals which includes identifying leadership attributes

Job Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Current endoscopy procedural experience required      NOTE:  If operationally able, will consider training opportunities for those with no endoscopy procedural experience)
  • Conscious sedation and physician relation skills required
  • Associate's of Science in Nursing degree from an accredited school of nursing required
  • Current California RN license required
  • Verbal and written communication skills and computer skills required
  • Current ACLS and BLS certifications required (must be certified through the American Heart Association)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's of Science in Nursing degree from an accredited school of nursing
