Job Summary and Responsibilities

The RN is responsible for assessing planning implementing and evaluating the care of patients in the Wound Healing Center.  Assists physicians with the development and implementation of the wound treatment plans and aprticipates in performance improvement review activities.

As a Clinic Nurse, you will be a central figure in our patient care team, delivering exceptional, compassionate care that truly makes a difference in our patients' lives.

Every day, you will collaborate on comprehensive screenings, conduct critical risk assessments, provide vital preventative health education, and expertly coordinate care for diverse patient populations, leveraging technology to streamline processes. You'll ensure patients feel informed and at ease, patiently guiding them through instructions and addressing their concerns.

To be successful in this role, you will combine robust clinical knowledge and technological proficiency with genuine compassion, strong communication skills, and an adaptable approach to learning and patient-centered care.

  • Performs routine physical/psychosocial assessment to collect basic data: follows the written plan of care, standards, practice guidelines, utilizes pathways.
  • Formulates a plan of care for individual needs, including cultural/ethical/spiritual needs. Participates in the planning of routine transitional health care needs (i.e. treatment options, patient placement options.)
  • Adapts planned educational programs and information to individual patients and family by modifying teaching strategies or content. Integrates education during the delivery of patient care.
  • Ensures efficiency in the delivery of care to determine immediate priorities and to offer solutions for problems.
  • Makes independent clinical decisions based on knowledge drawn from education and experience.
  • Actively advocates for patient rights and identifies potential conflict. Seeks counsel for resolution of conflict.

Job Requirements

Requirements:

Two years hospital inpatient oncology or outpatient chemotherapy experience required (may consider training if current staff skill set experience allows)

AA degree in nursing from an accredited school of nursing required

CA RN License, BLS, Bio Chemotherapy Certification

Verbal and written communication skills and computer skills required.

Associates of Science in Nursing from an accredited school of nursing, Strong verbal, written and computer skills

 

Preferred: 

BS degree in nursing from an accredited school of nursing preferred

ONS Oncology certification, BSN
