Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Medical Assistant, you'll keep the day running smoothly and efficiently for your patients and clinical team.

Every day, you will take the lead on proactively preparing patient charts, ensuring all information is obtained and up-to-date for those seen in our facility. You can expect to have multiple patients daily depending on the number of physicians are on-site.

Your success in this role comes from your enthusiasm to help others, work efficiently, and your empathy for our patients.

  • Assists in the delivery of direct patient care under the oversight of a Registered Nurse and/or licensed medical practitioner and receives written and/or oral assignments and direction
  • Obtains labs or procedure results, if not in chart, vital signs, chief complaint, reason for visit, allergies, current phone number and family list
  • Documents patient care activities and patient data accurately using appropriate documentation forms and/or information systems
  • Ensures exam rooms are clean which includes cleaning surgical equipment, preparing for delivery to central supply and disinfecting all patient contact equipment
  • Performs required skills such as, but not limited to, vital sign measurement, aseptic technique, non-invasive specimen collection, spirometry, hearing testing, vision testing and EKGs, etc
  • Observes patients carefully for significant changes and alerts RN and/or Practitioner immediately as appropriate

Job Requirements

Required

  • One year experience in a outpatient medical office or physician clinic setting
  • Basic Life Support - BLS through an American Heart Association provider

Preferred

  • Associates in a related field
  • Two years experience in a clinical setting
