Located in the Phoenix, Ariz., suburb of Chandler, the Chandler Regional Medical Center is a 429-bed, not-for-profit hospital with more than 2,600 team members and almost 1,000 doctors on staff representing all major specialties. Dignity Health Chandler Regional, Mercy Gilbert, and Arizona General Hospital Mesa awarded $422,000 in grants to support five community projects led by 15 local organizations. Since 1991, Dignity Health's Community Health Improvement Grants program has provided $91 million to nearly 3,800 health projects, focusing on vulnerable and underserved populations.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

The Labor and Delivery Scrub Technician plays a crucial role in the surgical team, ensuring a safe, sterile, and efficient operating room environment for a variety of surgical procedures related to childbirth. This individual is responsible for preparing the surgical suite, managing instruments and equipment, assisting the surgical team directly, and maintaining sterility throughout the procedure. Their contributions directly impact patient safety and the success of surgical interventions in the L&D setting.

To be successful in this role, you must possess adaptability, a strong team-player mindset, and enthusiasm for supporting complex surgical procedures.

  • Prepares and sets up case carts. Uses aseptic technique with sterile supplies.
  • Opens sterile supplies utilizing sterile technique. Sterilizes appropriate camera, scope and cables in the Steris based on physician preferences.
  • Assists nursing staff in providing patient care.
  • Performs OR room turnover in an efficient manner.

Job Requirements

Required

  • High School GED General Studies and One (1) years experience as a nursing assistant , upon hire or
  • One (1) years OR experience 
  • Basic Life Support American Heart Association required
