This position performs direct observation of the patient with a mental health or behavioral safety need. Utilizes specialized training, de-escalation techniques and other interventions as applicable to create a therapeutic and calming environment for patients. Communicates patient mental and/or physical status changes to the primary Registered Nurse and/or Nurse Leader. Completes data collection related to patient care, administers basic treatments and procedures under the direction of a Registered Nurse, and communicates patient responses to the care provided to the Registered Nurse. Assumes personal accountability for organizational mission and core values.
In addition to bringing humankindness to the workplace each day, qualified candidates will need the following:
Diploma/G.E.D. required
One year experience in an acute care setting, mental health, human services or related is preferred
Strong interpersonal skills
Knowledge of therapeutic interventions
Basic computer skills
Basic Life Support Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
Medium Work - exert/lift up to 50 lbs. force occasionally, and/or up to 20 lbs. frequently, and/or up to 10 lbs. constantly
