Founded in 1951, Dignity Health - Mark Twain Medical Center is a 25-bed, acute care, nonprofit hospital located in San Andreas, California. Serving over 90,000 patients annually, the hospital offers a full complement of services including cancer care, emergency care, and orthopedics. Mark Twain Medical Center also includes four Family Medical Clinics offering exams, immunizations, and care for minor injuries. Additionally, Mark Twain Medical Center has been recognized as an LGBTQ+ Healthcare Equality High Performer by the Human Rights Campaign Foundation.It is the only medical facility in Calavaras County.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

Responsible for the pick-up and delivery of specimens and reports between the hospital and the physicians' offices, hospital clinics, non-hospital clinic, veterinary offices and any other location as needed. Is responsible for the proper handling of specimens during transport. The Courier will also transport other items as requested by any hospital department or physician office, as long as the weight does not exceed 25 pounds and the items will fit into the courier car. All pick-up and delivery points must be on courier route.

Job Requirements

Minimum:

  • Must have a current California driver's license and a good driving record
  • Must demonstrate the ability to handle people and pressure situations.
  • Must be able to be reached by telephone.
  • Ability to drive safely
  • Must be insurable Able to drive safely in all types of weather conditions, including snow, using four-wheel drive

 

Preferred:

  • Past delivery experience
  • High school diploma or GED
