Serving over 90,000 patients annually, the hospital offers a full complement of services including cancer care, emergency care, and orthopedics. Mark Twain Medical Center also includes four Family Medical Clinics offering exams, immunizations, and care for minor injuries. Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Medical Assistant, you'll keep the day running smoothly and efficiently for your patients and clinical team.

Every day, you will take the lead on proactively preparing patient charts, ensuring all information is obtained and up-to-date for those seen in our facility. You can expect to have multiple patients daily depending on the number of physicians are on-site.

Your success in this role comes from your enthusiasm to help others, work efficiently, and your empathy for our patients.

  • Performs limited diagnostic lab tests, EKG's and stress tests
  • Administers injections and immunizations
  • Assist with quality improvement studies
  • Facilitates and documents the flow of patient/medical records
  • Performs other clinic duties as assigned
  • Perform laboratory draws

Job Requirements

Required

  • High School GED or High School Graduate or Medical Assistant program
  • Basic Life Support - CPR (BLS) through the American Heart Association
  • Phlebotomist: CA (PHLEB:CA)
  • Emergency Medical Technician (EMT:CA)
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)  through the American Heart Association 
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) through the American Heart Association 


Preferred

  • One-year experience in physician/clinic setting or equivalent combination of experience, certification, training.
  • Additional EMT or equivalent experience
