Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Nuclear Med Tech, you will be a specialized healthcare professional, vital in providing diagnostic and therapeutic services through the precise application of radionuclides.

Every day, you will expertly perform Nuclear Medicine procedures, utilizing radionuclides to produce high-quality images and data for licensed practitioners. You'll ensure appropriate patient care, recognize conditions essential for successful procedures, administer radiopharmaceuticals, operate equipment, and adhere to strict radiation safety.

To be successful in this role demands current certification, advanced technical expertise, and an exceptional eye for detail, coupled with a thorough understanding of radiation safety. Your compassionate patient care and dedication to precise imaging will be essential.

  • Performs routine Nuclear Medicine scans. 
  • Administers and disposes of radioactive materials.
  • Maintains liaison between medical staff and recommends procedures for coordinating functions of the Nuclear Medicine department.
  • Ensures sufficient stock of radioisotopes at all times by daily review. Computes remaining radioactivity of stock on hand and, considering known rate of decay, determines supplementary isotopes needed and prepares requisition.
  • Maintains required logs and records accurately and neatly.
  • Participates in weekend call rotation and holiday coverage.

Job Requirements

Required

  • Graduate of an approved Nuclear Medicine Technology program
  • Oregon Licensure as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist
  • Registered (RTN) or Certified (CNMT) Nuclear Medicine Technologist
  • AHA BLS within 30 Days
