Job Summary and Responsibilities

As a Rehab Assistant, you will assist licensed therapists in providing therapeutic care and support to patients undergoing rehabilitation.

Every day you will prepare treatment areas, help patients with exercises and mobility, manage equipment, and maintain a safe and organized clinical environment as delegated.

To be successful, you will demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to supporting patient progress and therapist needs within the rehabilitation setting.

  • Performs clinic maintenance and assists with infection control by keeping tools and equipment clean and ready for use in accordance with established standards.
  • Performs general organizational tasks as needed for patient care and clinical coordination.
  • Performs safety and infection control tasks.
  • Performs simple repairs/maintenance on equipment, when needed.
  • Replenishes supplies and materials for assigned areas.
  • Assists with direct patient care under the direct supervision of a licensed therapist.

Job Requirements

Required

  • High School Graduate General Studies and one year of related work experience that demonstrates attainment of the requisite job knowledge skills/abilities., upon hire or
  • High School GED General Studies and one year of related work experience that demonstrates attainment of the requisite job knowledge skills/abilities., upon hire and
  • Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire


Preferred

  • previous experience or volunteer work with a disabled population, including patient transfers, medical terminology, and interaction with a medical team (nurses, physicians, therapists), within the last five years.
