Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Pharmacist Specialist, you’ll help our doctors and nurses safely prescribe and dispense medications to help our patients feel better and recover from their illness or injury.

Every day you will meticulously review every prescription in your queue for safety, critically assessing for potential drug interactions, correct dosing, patient allergies, or any irregularities. You'll then authorize prescriptions for the pharmacy technician, performing a final check before dispensing medication to the nursing station, ensuring expert oversight in every process.

To excel in this role, you must enjoy learning new concepts and researching information in real-time to provide solutions for real people. You should also continually look for ways to go above and beyond for your patients, delivering an exceptional experience along with exceptional care.

  • Promotes long and short-range planning to respond and integrate within the market, Region, and system.
  • Works collaboratively with pharmacy peers to standardize clinical pharmacy systems when appropriate
  • Works, as directed by facility pharmacy leadership, on developing, coaching and mentoring pharmacy staff to maximize their scope of practice in the provision of clinical pharmacy services and scholarly activities across the continuum of care.
  • Educates the medical staff regarding cost-effective, quality pharmaceutical care based on evidence based medicine and best practices.
  • Participates in assigned committees relevant to their knowledge, experience and practice area
  • Assures that clinical pharmacy initiatives are in compliance with regulatory requirements.

Job Requirements

Required

  • Bachelors Of Science Pharmacy, upon hire or
  • Doctor Of Pharmacy Pharmacy, upon hire and
  • Residency completion or
  • 3 years of clinical experience
  • Pharmacist: WA, upon hire and
  • Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire and
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support, upon hire and
  • Board Certified Ambulatory, within 36 - months or
  • Board Certified Cardiology, within 36 - months or
  • Board Certified Compound Strl, within 36 - months or
  • Board Certified Critical Care, within 36 - months or
  • Board Certified Emergency, within 36 - months or
  • Board Certified Geriatric, within 36 - months or
  • Board Certified Infectious Dis, within 36 - months or
  • Board Certified Nuclear, within 36 - months or
  • Board Certified Nutrition Supp, within 36 - months or
  • Board Certified Oncology, within 36 - months or
  • Board Certified Psychiatric, within 36 - months or
