Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Registrar Lead, you will be a pivotal resource for the Patient Access Department, combining front-line registration expertise with leadership responsibilities. You'll play a key role in staff development, including hiring and comprehensive training, while ensuring departmental processes and policies are meticulously implemented and adhered to. 

 

Every day you will courteously greet patients, accurately obtain demographic and insurance information, and expertly code and verify insurance coverage. You will actively assist patients with billing inquiries, process medical records requests, and facilitate patient transfers needing higher levels of care.

 

To be successful in this role, you will need an Associate's degree or a combination of education and job-related experience, complemented by at least one year of recent medical office, hospital registration, or banking experience. 

  • Courteously and professionally greet patients.
  • Obtain accurate demographic insurance information.
  • Correctly code and verify insurance coverage.
  • Collect estimated patient responsibility or screen patient for assistance programs.
  • Answer all incoming calls to the facility.

Job Requirements

Required

  • High School Graduate/GED
  • One (1) year of recent medical office, hospital registration or banking experience
  • American Heart Association
    • Basic Life Support

Preferred

  • Associates degree or a combination of education and job-related experience
  • One (1) year of management, supervisor or lead experience
  • Service recovery & conflict resolution
  • Medical terminology, insurance verification, collections, schedule creation and maintenance
