Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Director Nursing Med/Surg and Tele for Mercy Hospitals of Bakersfield you will direct the operations of 6 medical/surgical and telemetry units totaling 192 beds across 2 campuses. In this role you will work with the Sr. Director Nursing and Executive leadership team on key strategies and initiatives, and provide oversight of 5 Managers of Nursing for financial, quality, safety, patient experience. and standardization across the 6 units. Given the complexity, size, and strategic importance of these units, you will need to be an expert who can standardize practices, drive efficiency, enhance financial performance, and improve quality, safety, and patient experience metrics. You will consolidate leadership efforts, optimize resource utilization, and ensure alignment with our organizational goals for exceptional patient care and sustainable growth.

Job Requirements

Required Education and Experience: 
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (e.g. BSN) or equivalent education and experience and Master's degree in nursing or other-related field (e.g., MSN/MBA/MHA) required.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of nursing experience required.
  • Minimum two (2) years of leadership experience required.
Required Licensure: 
  • Registered Nursing License (RN) in CA required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
