Job Summary and Responsibilities

The incumbent is responsible for the performance of EKGs, treadmill stress tests and Holter monitors. Demonstrates competency in patient care for neonate, pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients. May have access to or be required to distribute drugs, needles or syringes from storage locations, (such as large stock supplies, automated dispensing units and other carts) to/within patient care areas or treatment carts as defined by hospital policy/procedure.

 

As an EKG Tech, you will perform diagnostic electrocardiograms (EKGs) to assess cardiac function. Every day you will prepare patients, explain procedures, and accurately operate EKG machines to record heart activity, ensuring comfort and high-quality readings. To be successful, you will demonstrate strong technical proficiency, meticulous data collection, and excellent patient communication, contributing to accurate cardiac diagnostics.

Job Requirements

 

  • Basic Life Support from the American Heart Association.
  • Ability to effectively explain procedures to patients and follow established procedures.
  • General filing procedures and office skills.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of EKG procedures and equipment, basic cardiac and human body anatomy and physiology, basic interpretation of cardiac arrhythmias, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, aseptic techniques.
