Founded in 1887, Dignity Health - California Hospital Medical Center is a 318-bed, acute care, nonprofit hospital located in downtown Los Angeles, California. Job Summary and Responsibilities

As a Clerk, you will be the welcoming face and organizational hub of our clinic, ensuring a seamless and positive experience for every patient.

Every day, you will expertly manage patient registration and scheduling, efficiently process patient flow, address billing inquiries, and provide essential clerical support. You'll maintain strict confidentiality, handle financial transactions securely, and remain vigilant for any patient needs, all while contributing to a smooth, on-schedule operation.

To be successful in this role, you will possess exceptional organizational skills, a customer-centric approach, meticulous attention to detail, and a proactive ability to manage a fast-paced environment while upholding the highest standards of confidentiality and efficiency.

  • Answers the telephone pleasantly and within 3 rings and appropriately forwards the call.
  • Demonstrates complete understanding the chart flow process of the department.
  • Accurately searches patients within the Master Patient Index (MPI)
  • Accurately pulls records for requesters for patient care needs and based on requests lists and as directed by management
  • Accurately files records in accordance to terminal digit filing rules and chart processing flow.
  • Accurately creates file folders in adherence to the folder creation policy and procedure

Job Requirements

Required

  • High School Graduate or GED
  • Previous medical record department experience
  • Fire Safety, within 90 days of hire
