Penrose-St. Francis Health Services is a full-service, 712-bed acute care provider in Colorado Springs comprising Penrose Hospital, St. Francis Hospital and St Francis Hospital - Interquest. St. Francis Hospital opened in 2008 to keep pace with the growing needs of the Colorado Springs' community on the north side of the city. Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our ALT Newborn Hearing Screener, you are expected to perform duties in alignment with the mission and policies of the organization. You will perform duties in support of and in compliance with the performance improvement plan, Joint Commission, and other licensing, accrediting and regulatory agencies.

 

Every day, you will be responsible for performing computerized infant hearing screenings under the direction of the Newborn Hearing Screening Program Director and/or the Program Coordinator. This involves meticulous attention to detail, compassionate interaction with infants and their families, and accurate data recording to ensure early detection of hearing loss and prompt intervention.

 

To be successful in your role, you will meticulously perform computerized infant hearing screenings, adhering strictly to established guidelines, mission, and policies, ensuring early detection and intervention. You will demonstrate exceptional attention to detail, maintain rigorous compliance with all regulatory and accreditation standards, and contribute actively to performance improvement initiatives, all under the direct supervision of the program leadership.

Job Requirements

Required

  • High School Diploma/G.E.D.
  • Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association 
  • Newborn Hearing Screening Training Curriculum (NCHAM) certification within six (6) months of hire

Physical Requirements
Medium Work - exert/lift up to 50 lbs. force occasionally, and/or up to 20 lbs. frequently, and/or up to 10 lbs. constantly

 

Preferred

  • One to two (1-2) years of acute care experience
