The Pharmacy Technician Trainee is responsible for assisting the Pharmacist in medication preparation, inventory management, and distribution, requiring extreme accuracy and attention to detail. The Pharmacy Technician Trainee has responsibility for assisting licensed Technicians with controlled substances management, meeting DEA, FDA, and state regulations, and has access to and manages medication storage areas using pharmacy automation.  The Pharmacy Technician Trainee applies pharmacy knowledge and experience to identify variances and outliers in clinical practice to prevent medication errors. The Pharmacy Technician fields and triages calls and questions regarding medication distribution, assisting other caregivers within their scope of practice. 

 

Schedule:  Variable shifts, ten hour shifts, Monday - Friday, 7:00am - 5:30pm or 10:30am - 9:00pm and Saturday/Sundays 7:00am - 7:00pm

 

Job Requirements

In addition to bringing humankindness to the workplace each day, qualified candidates will need the following:

 

Required Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Training:

  • Obtain Pharmacy Assistant license in the state in which the employee works if available or necessary.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication, Excellent knowledge of drug names desired with the expectation of continuing education on new drugs.
