Surgical Technologist / OB Tech

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of mothers and newborns? We're seeking a skilled and compassionate Surgical Technologist or OB Tech to join our dynamic Obstetrics team. In this vital role, you'll provide direct and indirect patient care, ensuring smooth and safe surgical procedures and supporting our patient-centered approach.

What You'll Do:

  • Surgical Support: Lead the setup and assist surgical teams during C-sections, vaginal deliveries, and circumcisions, maintaining sterile fields and managing instrumentation.
  • Patient Care: Assist with patient needs, monitor vital signs, document observations, and ensure comfort and safety in collaboration with our nursing staff.
  • Operational Excellence: Maintain surgical equipment and supply inventories, ensuring readiness for all procedures.
  • Team Collaboration: Work seamlessly with RNs, physicians, and other team members, including participation in our Shared Governance organization.
  • Continuous Learning: Engage in professional development, unit meetings, and contribute to quality improvement initiatives.

Job Requirements

  • Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program or completion of on the job training as a scrub tech with minimum of 5 years’ experience or Completion of an accredited medical personnel program such as but not limited to CNA, MA, LPN, EMT I / II, or SPD tech who are willing to do on the job training with a structured competency regimen.
  • BLS is required upon hire. (Acceptable credentialing bodies and certifications include the following: American Heart Association: Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers.)

What You'll Bring:

  • Experience: Previous experience as a Surgical Technologist or OB Tech is preferred, especially with knowledge of surgical instrumentation, asepsis, and medical terminology.
  • Skills: Ability to anticipate patient needs, maintain sterile technique, and effectively assist surgical teams.
