Leaders in Specialized Care:
Why SJHMC?
This is an invitation to join a family of dedicated professionals at the forefront of medical innovation, united by the power of humankindness.
As the Principal Solutions Architect, you will serve as a technology visionary, responsible for supporting groundbreaking neuroscience-based clinical practice and research, by enabling advanced technological platforms. This is a high-impact, individual contributor role, where you will design and lead the architectural strategy for mission-critical initiatives and advanced neuro-technology capabilities, directly serving Barrow Neurological Institute's world-renowned clinicians, researchers, and educators. You will bridge software engineering excellence with a robust enterprise architecture discipline, to accelerate the modernization of Barrow's unique and complex technological ecosystem.
Every day, you will be responsible for specific application, database, network, infrastructure, and/or engineering portfolios/platforms, and will support high-performance computing architecture. This involves driving successful solution adoption from technology planning, investment decisions, implementation, to ongoing operational support for medium complexity portfolios. You will actively identify and accelerate the elimination of non-strategic technology platforms, optimizing our landscape.
To be successful in this role, you will possess a strong combination of business, technical, and leadership skills, with extensive experience in solution architecture and technology strategy. You will demonstrate exceptional problem-solving abilities, strategic thinking, and a deep understanding of application, infrastructure, and network technologies.
This encompasses highly specialized requirements for:
Clinicians: Developing intuitive tools for enhanced patient care delivery, clinical decision support, secure data access, and streamlined workflows.
Researchers: Architecting advanced platforms for high-compute environments, complex data analysis, AI/ML model deployment, and collaboration that accelerate discovery.
Educators: Designing innovative solutions for simulation, virtual learning, curriculum delivery, and knowledge
sharing that elevate neuro-education.
This role is not just about system architecture; it's about igniting innovation and transforming neuroscience through advanced technology. Acting as a thought-leader, chief architect, and technical mentor, you will work cross-functionally with neuro-clinical teams, research scientists, educators, data science professionals, and Barrow's dedicated IT infrastructure teams. Your goal will be to build scalable, secure, and intuitive digital and high-performance computing experiences that directly impact the discovery of new treatments, the delivery of cutting-edge patient care, and the education of future neuroscience leaders.
As a member of CommonSpirit Health, with focus on Barrow Neurological Institute, you will leverage your specialized and unique skill sets to work with other chief architects and technical leads within the broader CommonSpirit system, to architect and deploy innovative technologies across shared, scalable platforms. You will be an advocate for innovation, change, and clarity across both Barrow and CommonSpirit, supporting and motivating both local and system-wide teams. Assignments will include complex initiatives with direct clinical relevance, significant scientific scope, and deep organizational impact. You will be an experienced product engineering leader, championing software engineering best practices, while delivering technology products through modern cloud platforms, on-premise high-performance computing environments, and full-stack development frameworks. You will have the autonomy to make critical architectural decisions within Barrow's domain, directly influencing the selection, delivery, and adoption of the new technologies that will define the next generation of neurological care, research, and education.
